There are over 2000 items of “The King” memorabilia that are on the wall, display cases and the ceiling. All the posters and autographs are original. A few items have been given to as gifts. An original family recipe that’s been passed down for years, our garlic dressing is notorious with Azteca Mexican Restaurant. Try it on some the favorites; Garlic Salad, Garlic Tostada, our famous Garlic Tacos, and of course New York Garlic Steak. 		 
     
 

Our Food/ Aunt Connie

My Aunt Connie learned how to cook and all the original recipes from her mother in Jerome, Arizona. Connie and her son Artie Garcia moved to Los Angeles, California where she began selling burritos to the early morning produce workers downtown. There she started to perfect her style and in the early years her customers would tell her what they did and didn’t like. Our style of Mexican food stems from the all the time and labor she took to perfect her recipes. Azteca proudly makes every dish the way Aunt Connie would of, with love and the perfect taste.

In 1943, My Aunt Connie opened her first restaurant in Long Beach, CA called ‘The Old Mexico Café’ and after for a short while presided in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first Azteca Mexican Restaurant was opened in 1957 on Garden Grove Blvd because of cheap rent. Her dream was to own property on what is now Historic Main Street and she achieved her dream when she bought this property in 1980. Our belief is that “The King” may bring you in the first time, but that our food and service will bring you back forever. We pride ourselves in a restaurant first and foremost. Only the best will do.
